ABOUT ME

My name is Keith Tomlinson, I was born on the 4th July 1985 and grew up in the small town of Horley in Surrey, England. As a teenager I was a bit of a rebel and left school at the age of 15 with a bad report card and subsequently never went on to college. Over the next few year I just moved from one dead end low skilled job to the next. At the same time as I was clocking up a dozen criminal convictions and regularly making hospital visits, mainly because of being drunk or high on drugs. During this period I wasn’t very open about my sexuality and didn’t have any meaningful relationships just lots of one night stands with guys and girls.

This went on until I was 24 years old, then I got a Job as a kennel manger, helping train security dogs in the countryside which I really enjoyed. Over the next 2 years I slowly matured. When I was 26 I went to Africa and climbed my first mountain, Kilimanjaro, and that’s when everything changed.

The day I came back from my first summit I came out as gay properly and started a real relationship for the first time with a guy I’d been seeing. Sadly that relationship didn’t last and over the next 3 years I carried on climbing mountains, working my job at the kennel and battling my demons of drink and drugs. Everything was going ok up until 2014 and that’s where Rainbow Summit’s story begins…
